The Need for The North West Mounted Police

The Canadian Government realized they needed a justice force with the amount of people within one small area. As soon as crimes and conflicts started to approach in Klondike the Canadian Government needed to act quickly. Therefore, they came up with the enforcement of the North West Mounted Police to help enforce the rules. During the Gold Rush there was a need for the North West Mounted police because of all the issues and conflicts that summed up with the amount of immigrants searching for gold. The North West Mounted Police enforced the rules that applied to enter the Gold Mine and hunt for gold. With the setting of the North West Mounted police the crimes and issues started to lessen with the informant from the North West Mounted Police. With this, it became much safer to go and investigate for the seeking of gold. In this played out role, the North West Mounted police would check people wishing to quest for gold reducing the amount of issues and conflicts within the area. To further explain, the North West Mounted Police protected Dawson from conflicts and issues that occurred in the Klondike Mines. The North West Mounted Police are often remembered today as the early generation police force in the late 1800’s.
